Set in the grimy northern city of Tetouan (located 50km southeast of Tangiers), the film follows a trio of long-time friends—the foolish romantic, Malik (Fehd Benchemsi), the impoverished fanatic, Soufiane (Fouad Labyad), and the tough ex-con, Allal (Mouchine Malzi) – as they try to scrape by without any clear prospects for the future. Forced to snatch purses and sell contraband fashion in order to pay themselves a night on the town, their lives seem headed for nowheresville until Malik meets the seductive prostitute Dounia (Imane Elmecharfi), who slowly drives a wedge between the innocent delinquent and his best buddies..
“Death for sale ” was premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. It was also selected for the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale), where it won an appreciation award from the International Confederation of Cinema, Art and Authorship.

تقع أحداث الفيلم في مدينة تطوان الشمالية القاتمة (التي تقع على بعد 50 كيلومترًا جنوب شرق طنجة) ، ويتبع الفيلم ثلاثة من الأصدقاء: الرومانسي الأحمق ، مالك (فهد بن شمسي) ، والمتعصب الفقير ، سفيان (فؤاد لبيض) ، والمتعسّر الخادع علال (محسن ملزي) في “محاولة” من دون أي آفاق واضحة للمستقبل.
هم يبيعون الأشياء المحظورة من أجل أن يدفعوا لأنفسهم ليلة جميلة في حانة المدينة . حياتهم ستتغير عندما يلتقي مالك بـ “دنيا”(إيمان .المشارفى) التي تعمل عاهرة في ملهى ليلي.
عرض فيلم “موت للبيع” لأول مرة في مهرجان تورونتو السينمائي الدولي . كما تم عرضه أيضا ضمن فعاليات مهرجان برلين الدولي للسينما (برليناله) حيث حاز على جائزة تقديرية من الكنفدرالية الدولية للسينما والفن والتأليف.
Director
Faouzi Bensaidi was born in 1967 in the Moroccan city of Meknes. After studying drama in Rabat and Paris he went on to act and to direct stage-plays. Since 1997 he has been making films, including the multiple award-winning shorts La falaise (The cliff, 1998), Le mur (The wall, 2000) and Trajets (Journeys, 2000).
His first feature film Mille mois (A thousand months, 2003) won him numerous awards. His second feature www what a wonderful world about a contract killer in Casablanca led to an invitation to the Venice Film Festival in 2006 and to many others around the worldHis film Death for Sale premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and was also selected for the Berlinale / Berlin film festival .
The film was selected as the Moroccan entry for the Best Foreign Language Oscar at the 85th Academy Awards.
فوزي بن السعيدي مخرج مغربي من مواليد 14 مارس 1967 في مكناس، من بين أفلامه “ألف شهر” ، عمل مخرجاً وممثلاً مسرحياً قبل أن يصور فيلمه القصير الأول “الصخرة” (1997)، الذي حصد 23 جائزة دولية.
في 1999 شارك في كتابة سيناريو فيلم “بعيداً” لأندريه تيشيني. وفي العام 2000 أخرج فيلمين قصيرين هما “الحائط” الذي حاز على جائزة في مهرجان كان، و”خط المطر” الذي حاز على جائزة في مهرجان البندقية. فيلمه الطويل الأول “ألف شهر” فاز بجائزتين في مهرجان كان، وتبعه عام 2006 فيلم “يا له من عالم رائع”. أما فيلمه “موت للبيع” عرض لأول مرة في مهرجان تورونتو السينمائي الدولي .
كما تم عرضه أيضا ضمن فعاليات مهرجان برلين
